The holiday season is one of the busiest and most lucrative times of the year for many business owners. I emphasize many business owners because some business owners believe that no one will buy their products and/or services during this time of year. What?!? Are you kidding me?
Let’s explore this belief before we get into the 3 ways to boost your holiday sales. When I hear this statement, I immediately think the business owner is leaving money on the table not to mention sabotaging their own success. That belief gives business owners an out for not hitting their goals. And no one will question you (I will!) about not hitting your income goals because you told them, “no one buys during this time of year.”
If you believe that then yes, you’re right. But, there’s a lot of money being spent during the holiday season…. so, who’s getting your piece of the money pie if you’re leaving it on the table?
I know the answer to that question. Your competitors.
Well, just in case you don’t want to leave any money on the table, let me share 4 ways you can boost your sales and your bottom line during holiday season.
- Offer buy now incentives. For example, free shipping on orders over a certain amount or for all orders. You could also offer a bonus gift with each purchase or do a holiday giveaway. Those that purchases during a certain time period would be entered into the drawing.
- Bundle your products / services. When you bundle products and services, you’re increasing the value to the client and increasing your income. It’s a win, win!
- Charge more. If you’re planning to increase your fees in the new year, then offer a way for potential clients to lock in the rate now even if they don’t want to take advantage of the service until the next year. Again, this generates income for you and it’s a savings for the client.
