Success is a decision. It’s not a negotiation. It’s a firm commitment that only you can make. The decisions you make do one of two things – either move you closer or further away from your dreams and goals. When you understand the power of your decisions, you take intentional action to create your life on purpose.
Your life is a direct result of the choices and decisions you’ve made up until this point. Those decisions whether big or small, good or bad all worked together to create your current reality. The key is to understand that your decisions create results and those results become your reality. Results are valuable because they provide feedback that help move you closer to the success you desire.
Sometimes we believe we must first know how everything will work in order to make a decision. And sometimes if we can’t get enough answers to eliminate the risk, we will abandon the opportunity altogether. That was a limiting belief that kept me from living the life I’d always dreamed of. If it was uncomfortable then it wasn’t for me. But when I finally faced my fears and left the safety of the shore, to explore life’s greatest treasures in the deep waters, I began to live my life on purpose. Trust me, you’ll miss out on more than you’ll gain by choosing to be comfortable and abandoning the gift of opportunity and success. If you add a little faith to the equation there’s no need to know how it will all work out. Because you just know it will.
If you desire to maximize performance, grow your business or advance your career, you must learn to make decisions in alignment with your vision, purpose and goals. The following questions will support you to gain clarity and confidence in your decision making.
1. Discovery: Where are you today?
2. Vision: Where do you want to be? What do you want your life to look like?
3. Purpose: Why do you want this?
4. Goals: What actions do you need to take to get there?
No one achieves their goals without making decisions every step of the way. Even when you believe you’re not making a decision, you are. The best way to make a decision is to remove the label of a decision being good or bad and allow the results to serve as your personal tour guide toward living your dreams.
Thought to Ponder:
“Life is a series of decisions, not something that just happens” ~ Shontaye
I think many things in life are based on “decisions”. I believe you need to make the decision daily to be happy, seek success, etc. It is the power of your mind. If you are firmly set on achieving what you seek, and willing to do the work to make it happen, it most likely will.
Yes, absolutely Kimberly. Our life – success, happiness, etc begins with our minds. What we decide to do, be or have will show up.
I absolutely love this “success is a decision. It’s not a negotiation.” If only more people understood that the world would be a completely different place.
