As the end of the 2nd quarter quickly approaches, you’ve probably started thinking about your goals for the second half of this year. Before you create your business goals for the rest of the year make sure you take some time to review what’s happened so far this year. Identify what worked and what didn’t work then use that knowledge to create your goals for the next 6 months.
If one of your goals is to make more money in your business, make sure you define what “more” is. Vague goals create vague results. For example, if you’re currently making $100,000 and you made $100,001 next year, would that be the more you had in mind? Probably not.
Some business owners don’t set goals or create strategic plans because they really don’t know what they want. Then, there are those that don’t set goals because they don’t believe that setting goals works. Here’s the reality, not setting goals is actually a goal to remain the same. If you decide not to change, improve or grow, you’ve set a goal to remain the same.
But I know you want to take your business to the next level, so don’t overlook the power of goal setting.
Do you know what results you want to create in your business? That seems like a pretty simple question but statistics show that only about 10% of people can clearly articulate what it is they want. Yikes – that’s scary! Most often we start listing everything we don’t want. Well, guess what? That becomes the reality we create because we’ve focused on what we don’t want instead of what we do want.
In order to create something different, you have to make decisions, create goals and a clear action plan in alignment with what you desire.
