There are three ways to increase your sales and revenue – charge more, sell to more people and add more revenue streams. But what about when you do those things and still your sales and revenue don’t seem to be increasing? Should you lower your prices? Should you add more products and services in addition to what you’re currently offering? Maybe and maybe not.
The reality is if you’re not asking for the money, your sales won’t increase and neither will your revenue. There are many reasons we may not ask for the money but the fear of rejection is one of the biggest. But what about the potential client? They reached out to you because they need your help. No matter how you feel or what you think the potential client can afford if you want to win more sales and make more money, you have to ask for the sale.
There’s something to remember when someone says “no”, it doesn’t mean never. It just means not right now.
The stories and assumptions you make about a potential client’s ability to afford your services will keep you from asking for the money. We’ve all heard that a closed mouth doesn’t get fed, well I believe a closed mouth doesn’t get paid, so ask for the sale!
Below are a few tips to confidently close more sales and make more money:
- Shift your mindset and focus on serving
- Connect with the potential client before selling
- Create a sales script
- Create a price list
- Set a sales goal and track your results
- Follow up, follow up, follow up!
- And remember no doesn’t mean never.
