You put it out there. Now it’s time to sit back and wait for the payment notifications to fill your inbox. Yesssssss, this is it – the moment of glory. The money is about to start rolling in.
Hold on. Wait a minute…nothing’s happening. You check the webpage to make sure it’s working. You check the payment link, one more time. And, you check your email to make sure it’s not down.
That’s weird. No payment notifications have come through.

As business owners, it’s easy to create the next best thing from our long list of great ideas and believe that potential clients are going to flock to us to buy. I mean, why wouldn’t they when the product or service is exactly what they need to grow their business and/or live the life of their dreams.
One of the first things to remember as a business owner is that not everyone is your ideal client. Even if you’re selling a product or service that promises to add years to their life, millions to their bank account, remove every unwanted inch of fat, and instantly remove those unwanted wrinkles and dimples from their bodies, not everyone is your ideal client.
So what if you’re crystal clear about who your ideal client is and they’re still don’t buy? Below are 3 reasons, they haven’t hit the “buy now” button:
- It doesn’t solve their problem – Your ideal client will buy from you if they believe the product or service will solve their problem. The product or service may be what you think they need and not what they really want.
- They’re confused – The product or service may very well meet their needs but if they’re confused by all of the options and steps to purchase they won’t buy. Too many options can overwhelm them and keep them from taking action. Keep it simple.
- Ineffective marketing – Launching a new product or service takes more than a single social media post and mention in your newsletter. You should create a plan to consistently market the product or service. Assuming that your ideal client saw your newsletter and/or social media post is a surefire way to keep the dollars from rolling in.
